NEW SITE CHANGES!

You may have noticed that over the past few months quiet changes have been made to the site. First we gave you new artist pages. Check out your favorite and you'll find widgets, videos, music, and much more. Plus they look great.

A few weeks back we also updated our Artists page. You'll see highlighted artists up top in blue. These change as artists are updated with news, video, and music. This is a great page to make your first port-of-call after the news section!

Today we've relaunched three other pages. Music and Video are all new. You can now embed all of our music and video posted to the site in your blog, web site, or MySpace/Facebook profiles. At the right of these pages you'll see charts driven by what YOU do on our site. You can also leave comments at all songs and videos, rate them, and favorite them in our new profile system (more on that in a sec).

The Releases page has gotten a huge makeover. Every album now has its own home page where you can see the available tracks, rate it, leave a review, or comment on others' reviews. Snazzy huh?

Finally, we just launched our new profile pages. If you're a subscriber to our email newsletters, you can log in, add your own picture, keep track of the latest updates on our site (and partner sites), follow your favorite videos and music, and tell us what bands you want to hear about.

Of course, many of these new features require that you be a member of the site to use them, so please join today!

We are, of course, in a beta phase and need your help to make the site work the best for YOU. If you see any problems or want to suggest changes to the new features, please send an email to webmaster@roadrunnerrecords.com with "NEW SITE REPORT" in the subject line. If you receive an error, please be as detailed as possible, including what page you were on, what browser you are using, and copy any error message you receive into the body of the email.

This is a pretty weak list. First off, PLEASE stop playing that Gates of Slumber vid every fucking week. Second, I admit the individual guys in Dragonforce are extremely talented players, but is it just me that thinks all their songs sound basically the same? The only thing that is worth watching this week here is Meshuggah and Impending Doom, since I missed the ID vid the other week ago since they started the show 10 minutes early. As far as Slipknot goes...I am not saying anything negative, but I personally didn't like the first cd. I think it is nothing but a bunch of samples and white noise. Iowa was great, but Vol 3 we all know mostly a bust. Is everyone Hyping up the new cd? I mean, Revolver is giving it 5/5 stars. Come on. Psychosocial is an ok song, but it sounds to me like they are taking a page out of the book Killswitch perfected with the screaming verse/crooning chorus that every band under the sun has tried to imitate. I will probably get the new release, but I hope there is far better material on the new cd besides Psychosocial. HBB should play that Whitechapel vid again. They are awesome.

As I said before, Psychosocial is gonna be the first single and is therefor gonna be the most 'mainstreme' (Ah, the dreaded M word) so it promotes the album to the widest audience. I actually liked Psychosocial. I mean, it not exactly brutal metal but its not pussy ass stuff either. The only thing people are judjing the song on is the chorus where Corey sings. WHATS THE PROBLEM?? Singing is a form of melodic expression get the fuck over it! No one complained about Wait and Bleed did they?

I've complained about this show for weeks and I'm at my wits end. To answer the question at the top of the page (above the playlist), I've lost great in this show. I feel like compliants from me and other people have gone un-noticed and no one at MTV actually has knowledge or cares about metal at all. So, until HBB starts playing a better selection of vids and cuts down on the comercials I WILL NOT WATCH HBB. Fuck MTV, those worthless bastards.

Chance, let me guess, I am a "fag" because I put down your beloved Slipknot? I swear I laugh my balls off when these mall kids put on a Slipknot t-shirt and think they are a fan of the most hardcore metal motherfuckers on the planet. Got news for you...Slipknot aren't all that heavy. With preteens, teens and early 20 somethings, Slipknot is the equivilant of 30 or 40 somethings that still think Metallica is the heaviest thing going. Well, you are all wrong. Clown surely things Slipknot is the heaviest band out today, the cocky bastard. They might be the heaviest thing that Clear Channel Radio plays, but that is not saying much. The only reason Slipknot became so highly recognized in the first place is strickly because of a gimmick..masks. Not only that, but they think they need to "update" the looks of their masks with every album. To the masks, I say lame. As for Corey Taylor's new update.....hey, Jim Carrey called, he wants his mask back. Do you know what the following bands have in common?: Suffocation, Death, Diecide, Malevolent Creation, Exhorder, Obituary, Type O Negative and Disincarnate? These are just a few of the REAL metal bands that Roadrunner Records USED to sign before they started fagging out and started signing crap like Nickelback, CKY, Madina Lake and Airbourne, which are all VERY NOT METAL. And before some smartass says "they must suck and must not sold enough records because they aren't on the label anymore". To that I say, these are the types of bands that built Roadrunner up from absolutely nothing to a highly recognized independant label. Most Slipknot "fans" don't even know what metal is. So chance, before you start calling me a "fag" for ripping on Slipknot, why don't you get some real metal in your collection and then we will start talking shit, ok?

Brads got a point, Slipknot is for mall lovers and old men. If you wear chains on your pants that are 8 sizes too big slipknots cool. Impeding doom, Misery Signals and emmure re great but are the only thing i'd watch it for. Ive seen emmure three times in the last 5 months with a 4 coming next month and they get better every time. Though i wish the respect issue was as good as goodbye to the gallows but It's still a good album

And Kiss wore face paint to have a gimmick way back....it's not cool and it doesn't work (well, unfotunately it does)....fuck Slipknot.....anyone who even thinks that anything other than the first couple albums is good, should go listen to any current rap music, because you have no fucking knowledge or decent taste in music. And all the other bands (except Meshuggah) on this list are fucking garbage. Hatebreed has always been a fucking bootleg new aged Biohazard.......

DRAGONFORCE, LAMB OF GOD, HATEBREED VIDEOS

So I was wandering around the Mayhem Festival at the Nassau Coliseum on Wednesday and I run into these PETA folks giving away Lamb of God DVDs in exchange for signing a petition against something or other. They seemed to avoid me. Probably because I was wearing this shirt.

This is a pretty lame song list...keeps getting weaker and weaker. Looking forward to Within Temptation, Prong(they will probably cut this vid out anyway), Iced Earth, and Through the Eyes of the Dead. As I said last week, Job For A Cowboy is awesome, but this vid is getting old as it is on every fucking week. The Melvins, Underoath, Grim Reaper, and Poison the Well have no fucking business being on HBB in the first place.

I always try to watch at least some of Headbanger?s Ball every Saturday, but I think that adding a Guest Host or Guest Hosts would add extra incentive for viewers to tune in more often. That's my two cents.
Also, I don't think that the play-list is crap, as some others have alluded to. I believe the play-lists have been well put together, but I think having metal musicians on The Ball allows fans of metal to see different aspects of the musician's personalities that we metal-heads do not get to see from strictly watching the music videos. I would also like to thank Roadrunner Records for allowing fans a place to comment on Headbanger's Ball.

they have played videos by Satyricon and Dimmu Borgir on several occasions, just not recently.
You also have to remember that MTV does adhere to standards and practices so they can deem any video they please "unplayable" as they have with several Type O Negative videos in the past.
