NEW SITE CHANGES!
You may have noticed that over the past few months quiet changes have been made to the site. First we gave you new artist pages. Check out your favorite and you'll find widgets, videos, music, and much more. Plus they look great.
A few weeks back we also updated our Artists page. You'll see highlighted artists up top in blue. These change as artists are updated with news, video, and music. This is a great page to make your first port-of-call after the news section!
Today we've relaunched three other pages. Music and Video are all new. You can now embed all of our music and video posted to the site in your blog, web site, or MySpace/Facebook profiles. At the right of these pages you'll see charts driven by what YOU do on our site. You can also leave comments at all songs and videos, rate them, and favorite them in our new profile system (more on that in a sec).
The Releases page has gotten a huge makeover. Every album now has its own home page where you can see the available tracks, rate it, leave a review, or comment on others' reviews. Snazzy huh?
Finally, we just launched our new profile pages. If you're a subscriber to our email newsletters, you can log in, add your own picture, keep track of the latest updates on our site (and partner sites), follow your favorite videos and music, and tell us what bands you want to hear about.
Of course, many of these new features require that you be a member of the site to use them, so please join today!
We are, of course, in a beta phase and need your help to make the site work the best for YOU. If you see any problems or want to suggest changes to the new features, please send an email to webmaster@roadrunnerrecords.com with "NEW SITE REPORT" in the subject line. If you receive an error, please be as detailed as possible, including what page you were on, what browser you are using, and copy any error message you receive into the body of the email.
Please feel free to leave comments here below!
Cheers!

ROADRUNNER FANS: WE JUST SIGNED 3 NEW BANDS
Roadrunner Records is pleased to announce the signing of three eclectic, up and coming new bands to an already diverse roster than includes heavyweights such as Nickelback, Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Dragonforce, and Theory of a Deadman. Roadrunner welcomes Dommin, Mutiny Within and Port Amoral to the fold.
Los Angeles-based goth rock quartet Dommin was discovered by Dirty Icon Productions, a company founded by producers Logan Mader, former guitarist of longtime Roadrunner artist Machine Head, and Lucas Banker. Led by the enigmatic frontman, guitarist and songwriter Kristofer Dommin, Dommin puts a uniquely refreshing spin on the romantic, dark goth sound, bringing a unified voice to the brokenhearted, conflicted swarm of melancholic music fans who prefer to look at the glass as half-full. Veteran A&R rep Monte Conner signed the band to the label and was quick to express his excitement, saying, "Dommin comes across as very fresh and unique in today's landscape. Kristofer Dommin is their secret weapon. His vocals are absolutely compelling, and this is especially evident live where you can feel the power, passion and emotion of every word he sings." Dommin's line up is rounded out by keyboardist Konstantine, bassist Billy James and drummer Cameron. Check out the swell of black-hued, stormy and mysterious goth rock and their video clip of fan favorite "My Heart, Your Hands" on the band's heavily trafficked MySpace page, viewable at www.myspace.com/dommin. Look for the band's Roadrunner debut, produced by Dirty Icon Productions, this winter.
New Jersey-based Mutiny Within, a band of young turks who play like a troupe of seasoned shred veterans and who plucked their singer from Blackpool, England, thanks to the wonders of MySpace, have also been added to the label roster. The thoroughly metallic outfit was unearthed and signed by A&R man Mike Gitter, who was blown away by the band's live firepower. Gitter says, "The band was playing at a level so early in its career that most bands never touch. With the addition of [vocalist] Chris Clancy, they verge on unbeatable. Mutiny Within are truly the graduating valedictorians of Generation Guitar Hero." With members ranging in age from 18 to 23, Mutiny's line up is rounded out by bassist Andrew "AJ" Jacobs, guitarists Brandon Jacobs and Lu Obregon, keyboardist Drew Stavola, and drummer Bill Fiore. The Mutiny Within crew will spend the next few months toiling diligently in the Jacobs family's basement and they won't come out until they have an absolute metal classic on their hands. Turn your ear to their progressive-for-the-new-generation of metal songs posted at www.myspace.com/mutinynj.
Winnipeg, Canada's melodic metal band Port Amoral also joins the Roadrunner family. The group formed in 2004 and is comprised of a tandem of brothers, vocalist/bassist Jared Weiss and guitarist Eric Weiss. The line up is rounded out by guitarist Andrew Campbell and drummer Matthew Hallick. Port Amoral were also signed by Conner, whose interest was initially sparked after hearing demos produced by Canada's John Paul Peters (Comeback Kid, Waking Eyes) and taking in the energetic live show. "Port Amoral know how to craft songs with hooks and smart arrangements and their developed level of writing made me take notice," explains Conner. For a taste of the guitar mastery that turned Conner onto the band, check out a demo of the complex mini-epic "Villains" at www.myspace.com/portamoral. The band will record its Roadrunner debut with Colin Richardson (Bullet for My Valentine, Trivium, As I Lay Dying) for a winter 2009 release.
Port Amoral is a melodic metal band from the heart of Canada; Winnipeg, Manitoba. Since the bands birth in September 2004, Port Amoral- consisting of brothers Jared and Eric Weiss on vocals/bass and lead guitar respectively, Andrew Campbell on rhythm guitar and rounded out by Matt Hallick on drums, have successfully released 3 independent demos, their debut 2004 full length CD entitled Jade Dead Eyes, played to thousands in their hometown of Winnipeg Canada, and toured across western Canada and the United States.
Best described as a unique blend of Iron Maiden and Rise Against, the infections melodies and blistering guitar work, coupled with a powerful, driving live show has been impressing audiences everywhere.
PORT AMORAL was signed by longtime Roadrunner A&R man Monte Conner, founder of landmark metal bands like Sepultura, Slipknot, Machine Head, Fear Factory and Trivium. Conner's interest was initially sparked after hearing demos produced by Canada's John Paul Peters (Comeback Kid, Waking Eyes) and taking in the energetic live show that PORT AMORAL has come to be known for. But what sealed the deal and made Conner and the label brass realize PORT AMORAL was ready for Roadrunner was the demo recording of the band's newest song - "Villains." This four and a half minute mini-epic is a testament to the bands ever growing maturity and the ability to make complexity and simplicity work in perfect harmony. To stream the demo of "Villains," visit: www.myspace.com/portamoral.
Says Conner: "What is striking about "Villains" is that the song starts with an amazing and catchy section that could be a song in and of itself. Yet they abandon it a little over a minute in and change gears into a whole different song, with the intro being briefly reprised at the end. PORT AMORAL are very smart about how they arrange and structure their songs and it is a progressive element such as this that keeps you on your toes and shows their writing prowess and maturity. And let's not forget about Eric Weiss' guitar heroics!
"We could not be more excited about joining Roadrunner Records," says Jared Weiss. "A label that has always focused on metal and the hard music that we pride ourselves on. It's been a long and hard journey to get to this point, but we're ready as ever and humbled by the process of signing such an important record deal with a true A&R legend in Monte Conner. We cannot wait to record our first album which we promise will be a metal record like none other."
PORT AMORAL is managed by Trinity Management Group and will record their debut Roadrunner album this fall with Colin Richardson for a Winter 2009 release. www.myspace.com/portamoral .
