Nickelback to return to the UK for arena tour. - 11.03.2008
The band are currently riding a tsunami of radio and video play for their current single, ‘Rockstar’. The track has resided in the upper reaches of the UK singles chart since December 2007 and is taken from their latest album, ‘For All The Right Reasons’ which has also shifted a staggering 9 million copies to date globally. Both releases currently sit at No.3 in the respective UK singles and albums charts.
Incredible statistics are what NICKELBACK excel at. They connect with people on a level far beyond the ordinary and that is reflected in global album sales of around 26 million albums and counting. They’ve bagged numerous awards around the globe and just this week, their ‘Silver Side Up’ album broke the 1 million sales barrier in the UK. To celebrate, the band are excited to announce their UK tour dates this September, including their very first show at the O2 Arena in London’s Docklands. Frontman Chad Kroeger is looking forward to flying back over the pond, stating; "We can’t wait to get to the UK and give our fans the Nickelback show they deserve!"
Be sure to catch the band at one of the following shows as it’ll be your last chance to see them play before they close ranks and return home to Canada. There they will begin work on album number six, which is pencilled for release in 2009 through Roadrunner Records.

I'm not gonna lie to you. Electronic Press Kits (or 'EPKs'- video blurbs we get done on bands to send to media types) can sometimes be a lil dry. Not so the AIRBOURNE one which is a CORKER! I’m excited to be on the Paramore tour and I can’t wait to do the rest of the shows. We’re playing Brixton tomorrow, which we’ve never done and it’s a pretty historic place, so that’ll be another one for the scrapbook. The thing I’m anticipating most is the album release, which is pretty much what we’ve been working towards from day one. I’m just really excited for people to hear what we’ve been up to.

Destined to be an 'album of the year' contender for many in 2008 (as all OPETH releases are), 'Watershed' was recorded in the band’s native Sweden and produced by frontman/guitarist Mikael Akerfeldt and Jens Bogren. It is a masterwork that follows the time-honoured OPETH tradition; it’s modern yet timeless, ground-breaking and progressive yet paying homage to the sound of classic rock. 'Watershed' cycles through a variety of moods, speeds and textures, complete with subtleties and nuances of sound.

So we recently caught up with MADINA LAKE when they landed on the mainland for the remainder of their Kerrang! Relentless Energy Drink Tour shows. The guys were in mightly fine spirits, and Dan and Matthew settled down for a chat. (Alas right at that time Coheed settled down for soundcheck so appologies for the background rumbling!)
In other news, vocalist Nathan was taken ill with an infection yesterday but like a trooper played on regardless last night. Sickness kept him away from his Hard Rock Cafe commitments today alas, for which his sends his sincere appologies.

The 30th saw them hit the road with Paramore and New Found Glory on their UK tour! From Aleds latest blog, it would seem things are getting off to a spiffing start...
"Last night we played Manchester Apollo with the aforementioned awesome bands. The show was sold out and was pretty much insane. Joel managed to fall flat on his face before the first chorus of the first song - an outstanding achievement by anyones standards...We're really looking forward to Brixton tomorrow and Saturday... extremely so. It's our first time there. We've pretty much played everywhere in London now, except for Wembley... We'll wait for the album to come out... It's fine. I have time..."
